What is BIM?

Simpily put, BIM is a computer technology dedicated to the AEC industry, which visualize architectural design with 3D model and record building information with properties parameters. BIM is like a virtual building established using a computer. Since the building information are complete and associated to each other, you can:
1. Modify designs easily
2. Output design document (2D/ 3D image, or Report) easily
3. Analyze model with different software in order to comply with environmental requirements or improvements.

What is the difference between BIM and Revit?

BIM is a computer skill. Revit is one of the softwares to execute BIM. The relationship between them is similar to one between Microsoft Word and Word Processing. Trainers will analyze further in detail through the training.

Do I need to be familiar with AutoCAD in advanced?

No, Revit is can be learned individually without the knowledge of AutoCAD, but your knowledge in the AEC industry will certainly help your Revit learning.

Why is 30 hours required?

The course duration help students to understand Revit in detail. According to the uptake of students, the first 18 hours will be about software operation training. The latter 12 hours will be BIM project management training.

Revit provide BIM solution for various professions in the AEC industry, such as Architecture, MEP and Structure. This course focus on Revit Architectural application, which is the elemental course of Revit.

Is Revit suitable for interior design?

Although Revit is dedicated to benefit the AEC industry, the design of Revit is also suitable to interior designers to create plans and documents. Even though the relevant Families material isn’t sufficient at the moment, the need of BIM’s application in interior design will be increasing.
